India Buildings Criminal Team is led by Ray Herman and has members at all levels of seniority and experience. The team is able to provide the highest standard of advice and advocacy through the full spectrum of criminal cases, from the most straightforward to the highly complex. All members of the team both defend and prosecute, enabling them to maintain a balanced and objective approach to the service they provide.
Experienced practitioners provide a service of the highest professional standard, striving to serve the best interests of their client whilst maintaining a straightforward, considered and analytical approach. The Criminal Team benefits from the highest individual standards of its members which in turn results in significant strength in depth.
The team is briefed by a large number of solicitors throughout the North West, North Wales and beyond. All but the most junior members of the team have experience of serious fraud panel cases and are approved panel members. Although proud to be based in the heart of the city of Liverpool, the type of work undertaken by the Criminal Team regularly sees its members involved in high profile cases right across the country.
Prosecution work is not only undertaken on behalf of the Crown Prosecution Service but also, amongst others, the Probation Service, HM Revenue and Customs and the Post Office.
In addition to significant experience in criminal law, members of the team are also frequently briefed in associated proceedings involving, for example, Sexual Offences Prevention Orders, Anti-Social Behaviour Orders and confiscation seizure of property under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002.
The service provided is enhanced by an efficient and experienced team of clerks and administrators. Chambers also benefits from its location on the top floor of one of Liverpool’s most impressive buildings, enjoying bright and spacious conference facilities and commanding views across the famous waterfront and Liver Buildings.
