Jeff Clarke’s specialism is criminal law. His 20 years experience has included cases of murder, serious violence (including those offences involving firearms) robbery and serious sexual offences including rape.
Jeff Clarke has a particular interest in Proceeds of Crime applications. He is regularly instructed in such matters on a free standing basis in cases where he has not been involved in the criminal proceedings, as well as large cases where such applications will be an important part of the overall proceedings.
His experience extends to applications pursued under the Criminal Justice Act 1998, the Drug Trafficking Act 1994 (as amended) and the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002. Jeff Clarke has been involved in cases where applications have been contested over a period of 3 weeks and where a benefit of £20m has been alleged as well as property such as the matrimonial home.

Swansea Crown Court - Large scale ritualistic child sexual abuse
Large scale professional importation of cigarettes and alcohol by organised gangs; with accompanying proceeds of crime applications
Drug importation and supply on a large scale, where the Defence challenge of observation logs/evidence occupied a substantial part of the trial
Snaresbrook Crown Court - VAT fraud - Client was a qualified Chartered Accountant of good character and was the only main Defendant to be acquitted out of 9 Defendants. The unused material amounted to approximately 100,000 pages
