Phil Astbury is exclusively a criminal practitioner, specialising in all aspects of criminal work for both defence and prosecution.

In addition to the Crown Prosecution Service, he is briefed to prosecute on behalf of HM Revenue & Customs and the Post Office.

Prior to joining Chambers, he spent a number of years working within the criminal justice system gaining valuable experience from a variety of contrasting perspectives. In particular, he was employed as a Case Review Manager at the Criminal Cases Review Commission, investigating high profile miscarriages of justice throughout England and Wales.

He is instructed across the entire spectrum of offences and has been led in trials involving murder, complex fraud, institutional child cruelty.
